Jennie LaMonte’s Bio
I am a veteran scholar development professional who specializes in supporting young scholars as they maximize their experiences. While a former director of an international scholarship program, fellowships advisor, and teaching fellow, my current focus is to assist early-stage researchers and scholars. In addition to working with individuals, I have been a member of the education program writing teams for two successful ERCs, and the education director for an STC that made it to reverse site visit. It has been a privilege to support such strong and talented groups. I began this kind of work as an Assistant Senior Tutor at Harvard and chose this path through academia instead of pursuing a more traditional tenure-track course.

What does a Scholar Development professional do?We assist advanced graduate students and early-stage faculty to maximize their experience and then to capitalize on and present those accomplishments.
-
When should we begin our collaboration? While we can step up to help a potential candidate at any point in the journey, the best time to contact us is today. If support is part of a start-up package, please don’t delay. Deriving benefit from this process is the only element that is completely within a candidate's control.

Can you guarantee selection by competitive programs? No one can ethically offer this guarantee. Achievement is based on performance. We can help enhance performance and to present these results in ways that will resonate with peer review and selection committees. However, the substance of a candidacy is foundational to outcomes – this is the responsibility of a candidate.
